BYU & Montana win MCLA National Titles, NCAA Finals this weekend

With the NLL Championship Game and the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships recently completed, college lacrosse championships are taking center stage. This past weekend the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) National Championship was held at FC Dallas' Pizza Hut Park in Texas. Brigham Young University and the University of Montana captured National Titles.

The NCAA final four gets under way this weekend as Cornell, Duke, Johns Hopkins and Delaware battle for the NCAA Division I title at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland.

The Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) is a national organization of non-varsity, college lacrosse programs. As the sport of lacrosse continues to grow around the country, the MCLA boasts nearly 200 programs in two divisions and continues to grow as well.

This past Saturday in the MCLA National Championship, the number one seeded BYU defeated Oregon, 16-9, in the Division A National Championship Game and Montana defeated the number one seeded St. Johns, 15-5, to capture the Division B National Title.

With the popularity of lacrosse booming and teams and leagues popping up around the country, the MCLA national championships featured teams from some notable universities from around the USA.

Amongst the teams competing in the National Championships this past weekend were; University of Florida, Colorado State, Arizona State, University of Colorado, University of Oregon, University of Georgia, University of Michigan, Boston College, Texas A&M, University of California Santa Barbara, University of Montana, St. Johns University and Bringham Young University.
