CHICAGO INKS CARTER LIVINGSTONE
Shamrox assistant captain signs two-year contract
11/14/2007
Defenseman Carter Livingstone signed a two-year deal with the Chicago Shamrox on Tuesday. The assistant captain of the 2007 team, Livingstone played in 15 games during the Inaugural Season of the Shamrox and scooped 55 loose balls and five assists."I am really excited about re-signing with the Shamrox," said Livingstone. "The team is run like a first class organization and I am proud to be a part of it. I look forward to competing for the Champion's Cup and bringing a championship home to the Windy City."
Livingstone is no stranger to bringing championships home. During the 2002 and 2003 seasons, Livingstone played for the Toronto Rock and helped the Rock secure back-to-back championships.
The Shamrox also signed Bobby McBride, who was originally selected by the Rock in the second round of the 2002 Entry Draft. McBride, a right-handed forward, has never played in the NLL, but is no stranger to the sport, playing nine seasons of summer lacrosse in Toronto, Brampton and Brooklin, Ontario.
In addition to lacrosse, McBride is also a hockey player who played for St. Mary's University and currently for Carleton University in Ottawa. He's also seen action for the Kingston Frontenacs and the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League.
Ironically, McBride has a strong connection to the Shamrox already. While playing hockey at St. Mary's, he was teammates with Shamrox newcomer Lindsay Plunkett and Scott Self.
