NLL.com Fantasy Lacrosse is back for the 2009 season! Be your own General Manager as you compete against seven other NLL fans. Now featuring live drafts and more interactive features, the NLL Fantasy Lacrosse season will kick off during Week #2 of the NLL regular season, on January 10th, 2009. Registration is now closed, however.After registering, each fan can reserve a spot in an eight-team fantasy league and begin to set their Fantasy Draft priority order, which is used if you miss your live draft or elect to play in a pre-draft league. You may select 11 players, including up to two goaltenders.
The fantasy lacrosse regular season begins with Week 2 of the NLL Regular Season and runs until Week 14 (no games on All-Star weekend. The fantasy playoffs begin on Week 15. Dress your top five scorers and your goalie every week and try to accumulate enough points to knock out the competition.
Each team will be awarded a point for: Every 1 goal recorded, every 2 assists recorded and every 10 loose balls recorded. In addition, every three saves recorded by a goaltender will earn you a point, but you'll lose one point for every goal allowed. Goalies also get a one point bonus for every 15 minutes of time they spend in goal.
In 2009, individual goaltenders will be used instead of team goaltenders, so be sure to brush up on your depth charts!
