Peter Lough and the Toronto defense held Edmonton scoreless for the final 14 minutes of regulation, while the offense turned a 10-9 nailbiter into a 14-9 rout.

Toronto weathers third quarter push to earn win

The Toronto Rock defeated the Edmonton Rush 14-9 in front of 12,109 fans on Saturday night at Rexall Place. Blaine Manning powered the Rock with a three goal, three assist performance. Aaron Wilson, Chris Driscoll and Kasey Beirnes added two goals each to boost the Toronto offense. Josh Sanderson contributed strongly as well, assisting on six Rock goals. Bob Watson earned his second victory of the season in goal for Toronto.For Edmonton, Kyle Goundrey found the back of the night three times on the night. Chris McElroy and Chris Gill scored two goals apiece in the loss. Goaltender Curtis Palidwor backstopped the Rush defense against Toronto.
Toronto (2-2) will return home next Saturday to host the New York Titans in a 7:30 PM EST game at the Air Canada Centre.
Edmonton (0-2) will travel to Chicago next week for a Saturday night game against the Shamrox. Game time is 8:00 PM EST.
