01/28/2008

Megan, the team captain of the San Jose Stealth's Spy Girls, will hit the turf with the rest of the dance team at their second home game of the season on Saturday at HP Pavilion, when Stealth host the 3-0 Minnesota Swarm.

Along with her duties with the Spy Girls, Megan is a full-time student at San Jose State, where she studies Elementary Education, and keeps busy with four other part-time jobs, which include working at a pre-school with kids as young as 18 months, and teaching children of all ages at Dance Craze.

The San Jose native has been a student at Dance Craze since she was five years old, and began teaching a few years ago. It was there where she heard about Spy Girl tryouts from another teacher.

"I love performing so it was a good opportunity for me," said Megan. "The game was all new to me though, it's the first lacrosse I've ever seen. I really love it, it's so action packed and after a few games you start to get the hang of the rules."

Megan loves working with children hopes to become an elementary school teacher upon graduation. Until then, she stays active in the Bay Area community doing volunteer work with Make a Wish Foundation and at the Georgia Travis Center, a shelter for women and children. Last month, she helped coordinate at a Christmas Party for Make a Wish, and recently assisted at a food drive at the shelter.
