RUSH ACQUIRE THENHAUS FROM WINGS
Edmonton acquires 21-year-old forward from Philadelphia
02/29/2008
The Philadelphia Wings have traded forward Brendan Thenhaus to the Edmonton Rush in exchange for a conditional third round pick in the 2008 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft. In related moves, Philadelphia activated Drew Westervelt from injured reserve, while Edmonton placed Ben Prepchuk on injured reserve.
"With so much depth on our right side, it was difficult to get Brenden into the lineup," said Wings GM Lindsay Sanderson. "The move to Edmonton will give him the chance to play. It will also allow us to get Drew Westervelt on our roster after spending the past couple of months on injured reserve."
Thenhaus has six points (3G, 3A) and 25 loose balls in seven career games. He was acquired by the Wings as a free agent on December 12, 2007. Thenhaus played for the Buffalo Bandits in 2007.
Westervelt was drafted by the Wings in the third round (37th overall) in the 2008 NLL Entry Draft. The UMBC graduate has been cleared to play after being on injured reserve since November due to a Jones fracture in his left foot.
