PROUT NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Hominuck, Point recognized; Titans' Vinc & Orsen honored

Colorado's Gavin Prout was named Overall Player of the Week for the first time this season. The 30-year-old right-hander scored three goals and six assists in the Mammoth's 11-6 road-win over the Calgary Roughnecks on Friday at Pengrowth Saddledome. Prout currently leads the league in assists with 41 in nine games for the first-place Mammoth (6-3).

Edmonton's Mike Hominuck was named Offensive Player of the Week. Hominuck, playing in his first game since he was acquired by the Rush in a four-team trade two weeks ago, scored three goals, including the overtime game-winner, to lead Edmonton over the defending champion Rochester Knighthawks, 10-9, at Rexall Place on Saturday. The 26-year-old forward also added an assist and nine loose balls.

New York's Matt Vinc was named Defensive Player of the Week. The 25-year-old goaltender recorded a weekend-high 51 saves as he and the Titans defense held Toronto to only 10 goals in a 14-10 road-win at Air Canada Centre on Friday.

Teammate John Orsen was named Transition Player of the Week. The 24-year-old defender scored a season-high two goals and two assists, and scooped 13 loose balls as he helped support Vinc and the Titans defense.

Minnesota's Craig Point was named Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season. The 22-year-old right-hander scored four goals and two assists, and scooped four loose balls in the Swarm's 13-9 win over the Chicago Shamrox at Sears Centre on Friday.
