Philadelphia's Geoff Snider broke the all-time single-season loose ball record, scooping 244. Recently retired Jim Veltman, who is still the league's all-time career loose ball leader by a wide margin, previously held the record with 226 in 2006, while Portland's Brodie Merrill recorded 214 in 2006.Snider's 318 faceoff wins also match a league record, set by Wings teammate Peter Jacobs in 2005. Snider's faceoff win percentage (73.8%) falls just short of his own record (75%), set in 2007.
Snider also set a new record for penalty minutes in a season, with 103.
Teammate Athan Iannucci scored a league-record 71 goals, and added 29 assists for a league-leading 100 points. Iannucci was the only player in the league to hit triple digits in points. Last year, four players (John Grant, Dan Dawson, Lewis Ratcliff and John Tavares) topped the 100-point mark. Iannucci also scooped 138 loose balls which leads all forwards.
