Calgary uses balanced scoring to eliminate Colorado

The Calgary Roughnecks topped the Colorado Mammoth, 15-13, in the West Division Semifinals on Saturday at Pepsi Center. Nine different players scored goals for the Roughnecks, who will host the Portland LumberJax next Saturday at Pengrowth Saddledome at 9:30 PM ET.

The teams traded scores throughout the game, and Colorado held a 12-10 lead halfway through the fourth quarter, but Calgary scored five straight goals in the final eight minutes to grab the lead for good.

Jeff Shattler and Kaleb Toth each scored three goals for Calgary, while Tracey Kelusky and Kelly Hall added two goals apiece. Josh Sanderson, Curt Malawsky, Scott Ranger, Mike Carnegie and Chris Seller chipped in singles. Kelusky and Sanderson each had five assists. Veteran goaltender Steve Dietrich made 29 saves in the win.

Jamie Shewchuk, Jason Wulder, Gavin Prout and Chris Gill (bc) scored two goals each for the Mammoth, who held a 4-1 lead after the first quarter. Gee Nash stopped 37 shots in the loss.
