MANNING NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Minnesota's Croswell, Watt also honored; Powell named top forward

Toronto's Blaine Manning has been named the Overall Player of the Week following his performance on Saturday against the New York Titans at BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, FL. Manning led the Rock to a 15-14 victory over the Titans, tallying five goals, two assists and five loose balls. His final goal came with 38 seconds left in regulation, proving to be the game winner.

New York's Casey Powell came away with Offensive Player of the Week honors. Powell, who fired a whopping 16 shots in the direction of Toronto goaltender Bob Watson, finished his stat-stuffing Week 1 with six goals, four assists and two loose balls. Three of the Syracuse University alumnus' goals were of the power play variety.

Minnesota's Kevin Croswell has been named Defensive Player of the Week on the heels of his 42 save-effort in the Swarm's 11-7 win over Portland. Croswell, who made his first career start covering for All-Star Nick Patterson, allowed a mere seven goals, earning a save percentage of .857.

Portland's Scott Stewart has been named Transition Player of the Week. Stewart scooped up 10 looses balls against Minnesota, the fifth highest total this past weekend. The third-year Canadian product also managed one goal and one assist in Portland's 7-11 loss to Minnesota.

Minnesota's Andrew Watt has been named Rookie of the Week. In his first career game, Watt produced one assist and six loose balls in a winning effort against Portland.
