Boston's Bloom & Cosmo honored; Crompton top rookie

Buffalo's Mark Steenhuis was named Overall and Offensive Player of the Week. The 28-year-old right-hander broke a pair of records to lead the Bandits past the Toronto Rock, 25-10, at HSBC Arena on Saturday. Steenhuis' 17 points broke John Grant's previous record of 15, while his 13 assists took down Derek Malawsky's previous record of 11.

Boston's Anthony Cosmo was named Defensive Player of hte Week. Cosmo and the Blazers defense held Philadelphia to just four goals -- including just one in the first 50 minutes of action -- in the team's 8-4 win on Friday. Cosmo finished with 33 saves in the win.

Teammate Jason Bloom was named Transition Player of the Week. Bloom took part in half of Boston's eight scores, recording three goals and one assist on transition.

Colorado's Tyler Crompton was named Rookie of the Week. Crompton scored two goals in the Mammoth's 13-12 win over Calgary on Saturday. The 23-year-old right-hander also won three of six faceoffs and scooped three loose balls.

The Weekly Player Awards are determined by a vote of the General Managers and Head Coaches of the league's 12 teams.
