NLL GIRL OF THE WEEK - JENNIFER

Bombshell member hopes to own a fitness/dance studio

06/17/2009

Born and raised in Santa Cruz, CA, Jennifer - the newest NLL Girl of the Week - is a "100% California girl" who has been dancing since the age of three, including six years of competitive dancing. Her dance background includes everything from ballet (11 years) to hip-hop (15 years), and 2009 was her first year with the Bombshells. With the Stealth franchise moving to Everett, WA, it was also her last.

"The thing I enjoyed the most about being a part of the Stealth was performing all the remarkable routines with my fellow Bombshells for the die-hard fans. Nothing compares to that rush I get from performing every game day... The times I shared with my Bombshell teammates were some of the finest moments of my life so far."

Jennifer works for her family's real estate investment and development company, and although her parents are her role models, she has never seen herself as an office worker. As a result, she is currently studying to become a certified personal trainer to help chase her dream "to one day have my own fitness/dance studio." She already has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater Arts from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

"I love fitness and my dream is to one day have my own fitness/dance studio," said Jennifer. "I am also an extreme sport enthusiast and enjoy wakeboarding, motocross and snowboarding in my spare time."

"The fast-paced, rough energy of the sport" and "non-stop intensity" are two reasons why Jennifer claims to enjoy lacrosse. It only makes sense, as the extreme sport enthusiast also sports a motorcycle license and boasts a collection of bikes with hopes for another.

"I have two dirt bikes: a 2007 Honda CRF 150r for the dirt and my older 2002 CR 80 for riding the sand dunes. I am working towards getting a motorcycle for the streets, but it is hard to find one that I like that fits my 5'0" frame. A smaller supermoto bike would be ideal, but for now my Honda Ruckus scooter will have to do."

She says that her friends would describe her as a goofball who loves to laugh but loves making others laugh even more. Music is what makes her "want to get up and dance," and she specifically enjoys listening to Steel Pulse's "feel good" music and Lady Gaga. She is also newly engaged and is planning her wedding for the end of Summer 2010.

Jennifer says of all the Stealth players, she most enjoyed watching Jeff Zywicki.

"Besides having an awesome last name, Zywicki is just a stellar athlete. He is the shortest guy on the team, but he dominates every game, scoring goal after goal."
