After losing its first home game of the season in an overtime contest to the Edmonton Rush (5-3) on March 6, the Rochester Knighthawks (5-4) will host the Orlando Titans (5-3) at 7:35pm EST at Blue Cross Arena Saturday.Last time the clubs met, the Titans came out on top in a 13-8 Jan. 29 matchup at Amway Arena in Orlando.
This game will be an intense one, not just because Rochester will be looking to bounce back from the loss to Edmonton, but also because it is a pivotal matchup in the East Division standings.
Orlando currently sits in second place in the division, while the Knighthawks are tied for third with the Boston Blazers (5-4).
After giving up a strong lead to the Rush in their last game, Rochester believes their biggest enemy is themselves.
"We just have to play better on the offensive end and we're not doing it this year and that is definitely causing us losses. Until we can figure out how to score five-on-five, we are going to be in some trouble," said Rochester forward John Grant after the loss.
Rochester goalie Pat O'Toole enters the game just 33 saves away from passing National Lacrosse League Hall of Fame netminder Dallas Eliuk as the all-time saves leader. Eliuk recorded 6,356 saves during his 18 seasons in the league. O'Toole now has 6,323 following a 33-save performance against Edmonton on Feb. 27.
