Steenhuis scored the first three goals of the game, posting a natural hat trick in the first quarter. He finished with six goals and four assists for a total of ten points. The win was crucial for the Bandits, who entered the contest with a 2-6 record and needed to start the second half of their season on a strong note. The Week #9 NLL schedule consisted of games played on the weekend of March 6th.

Calgary Roughnecks Goaltender Matt King was named Defensive Player of the Week. King made 40 saves, allowing Philadelphia to score only seven goals on 47 shots on goal. The Roughnecks took the contest by a final of 15-7, marking their fourth consecutive win after a 1-3 start.

The Transition Player of the Week was Jeff Shattler of the Calgary Roughnecks. Shattler scored two goals and added an assist. He also helped the Roughnecks to their fourth consecutive win by scooping up twelve loose balls.

Buffalo Bandits Forward Kyle Clancy was named Rookie of the Week. Clancy joined Steenhuis and the Buffalo attack by adding two goals and four assists of his own. Clancy assisted on both the tying and go ahead goals to keep Bandits in front for a 12-10 win over the Titans.

All four players who won awards this week won for their first time this season.

The NLL Weekly Player Awards are determined each week by a vote of the General Managers & Head Coaches of the league's eleven member clubs.
