Eight team playoff field is now set

The 2010 National Lacrosse League regular season schedule has been completed. Sixteen weeks and 88 games later, the eight-team playoff field is now set. Two of the playoff spots went unclaimed until the last night of the season. The Buffalo Bandits claimed one of them by defeating the Boston Blazers on Saturday. The final spot went unclaimed until the final game of the season ended. The Rochester Knighthawks' loss to Washington gave the final playoff spot to the Boston Blazers.

The playoffs begin with the four Divisional Semifinal games on Saturday, May 1. The matchups and schedule are as follows:

Eastern Division
#4 Boston Blazers (8-8) at #1 Orlando Titans (11-5), Saturday, May 1, 7:35pm ET
#3 Buffalo Bandits (8-8) at #2 Toronto Rock (9-7), Saturday, May 1, 7:30pm ET

Western Division
#3 Edmonton Rush (10-6) at #2 Calgary Roughnecks (10-6), Saturday, May 1, 3pm ET
#4 Minnesota Swarm (5-11) at #1 Washington Stealth (11-5), Saturday, May 1, 10:30pm ET

The four winners of these games will advance to the Divisional Finals on the weekend of May 7 - 9.
