MAMMOTH ACQUIRE CONN FROM CALGARY

Colorado trades draft picks to Roughnecks in exchange for Craig Conn

07/06/2010

The Colorado Mammoth have acquired veteran forward Craig Conn from the Calgary Roughnecks. In exchange, the Mammoth sends second- and fourth-round picks in the upcoming NLL Entry Draft to the Roughnecks.

"The addition of Craig to our right side and more importantly our dressing room is a huge plus for our organization," said Mammoth assistant general manager Bill Hall. "Our fans have seen his outstanding talents as an opponent, and will love him in the Mammoth 'M'."

The 26-year-old right-hander has played for five teams in his six-year career. Slowed by injuries, Conn enjoyed his best NLL seasons in 2006 and 2007. His 44 goals in '06 were second-best in the league that season, while his 55-assist total a year later was tied for seventh-best.

"Coach Hamley knows [Craig's] ability well from their time together with previous teams," continued Hall. "Craig is a tremendously gritty and selfless player who I have admired from afar. I look forward to welcoming him to the Mammoth family."

Just two points shy of 300 for his career, Conn recorded 19 goals and 23 assists in his lone season with Calgary in 2010.

"This trade is a great step in the right direction for the organization," proclaimed Hall.
