IL Indoor's Brian Shanahan has released his National Lacrosse League Power Rankings after Week #7. While the Toronto Rock remained at the top for the fourth-straight week, the Buffalo Bandits and Edmonton Rush made the biggest jump by each moving up three spots in the poll.
"In the marquee game of the weekend, the Toronto Rock came back from an early 6-3 deficit against the red-hot Calgary Roughnecks and dominated the rest of the game with a convincing 17-12 victory," Shanahan writes. "There’s no doubt that Toronto is the number one team at this point in the season."
3) Buffalo Bandits (4-3) (+3)
"When the Bandits are bad, they look terrible (last week’s 15-7 loss against Rochester), but they come back with an impressive 10-6 win against those same Knighthawks at Rochester. Anthony Cosmo put in an MVP performance as he stopped 54 of 60 shots sent his way. The Bandits have next weekend off but will play the Toronto Rock and the Philadelpha Wings the following weekend."
5) Edmonton Rush (3-4) (+3)
"Edmonton jumps three spots in the Power Rankings as they probably had their most dominant weekend in franchise history, defeating Washington 15-10 and Colorado 14-7. Super Rookie Mark Matthews scored six goals on Friday and five on Saturday to lead the offensive charge. Matthews now leads all NLL players with 23 goals and for the first time in franchise history, the Rush have a Wayne Gretzky-like superstar scoring goals for them."
