IL Indoor's Brian Shanahan has released his National Lacrosse League Power Rankings after Week #10 of the 2013 NLL regular season. The Toronto Rock claimed the top spot for the seventh-straight week while the Buffalo Bandits and Colorado Mammoth moved in opposite directions following the Mammoth's convincing road win over the Bandits.
"There were only four games in the NLL this weekend and judging by the IL staff picks, the only mildly surprising outcome was that the Colorado Mammoth defeated the Buffalo Bandits 24 hours after their loss in Toronto," Shanahan writes. "What should be shocking is that the Mammoth outshot the Bandits 60-37 and held Buffalo to six goals."
6) Buffalo Bandits (5-5) (-2)
"The Doctor Jekyll/Mr. Hyde show continues for the Buffalo Bandits. Last week we saw the Bandits change faces midgame. They let a 6-4 lead turn into an embarrassing 12-6 loss to the Colorado Mammoth. The obvious reason for Buffalo’s inconsistent play is that they miss the leadership of John Tavares who did not play against the Mammoth. Buffalo is 4-2 with Tavares and 1-3 without him."
8) Colorado Mammoth (3-7) (+1)
"Colorado has to be pleased with their split weekend (14-10 loss in Toronto and a 12-6 win in Buffalo), especially since it ended on such a positive note. However the main reason that the Mammoth must be feeling good about themselves is the play of young goaltender Tye Belanger."
