With the Colorado Mammoth’s offense highlighted by former MVP’s and big-name players such as John Grant, Jr., Adam Jones, Gavin Prout, and newest addition Casey Powell, forward Jordan McBride’s impressive 2013 campaign so far might be going somewhat under the radar.

McBride has been producing at a high level of late and ranks third on the team with 21 goals and is tied for third with 42 points (21+21) this season.

“He’s having a great year,” said Mammoth head coach Bob Hamley. “He’s coming into his own and guys are starting to trust him. He’s got great hands and shoots the ball real well.”

Drafted 13th overall in the 2011 NLL Entry Draft, McBride has improved each year, already doubling his points total from last season and coming up big on offense at the right times.

By sharing the field with several living legends of lacrosse, he admits to learning a thing or two each time he steps on the field.

“Playing with John Grant, Jr. and Casey Powell and Adam Jones, these guys are the best players in the world,” McBride said. “I love it, I’m learning and that’s all I could wish for.”

Being reliable in rotating the ball as much as finding shots on goal, McBride has been a key centrifuge on the offensive side of the ball during Colorado’s hot streak in recent weeks. Over the past four games, McBride has averaged five points per game and earned a Game MVP honor for his six-point (4+2) night against the Philadelphia Wings in Week #13.

But despite the rise in his status on the floor, the team comes first in McBride’s eyes as the locker room has “Playoffs or Bust” on their minds as the regular season draws to a close with two games remaining

“We’ve got to keep on winning. We want to win the last six games of the season and that’s what we’re going for,” said McBride in reference to stringing their most recent win along with their two remaining regular season contests and three potential postseason games.

Colorado wraps up the final two weeks of their schedule with a home-and-home series against the Minnesota Swarm, as both teams are eyeing playoff berths in what could be a down-to-the-wire race. The two teams will meet in Denver for the first game this weekend on Saturday at 9 p.m. ET before traveling to St. Paul for the season finale in Week #16.

The Mammoth (6-8) can clinch a playoff berth with a win this weekend. Watch Saturday’s game live on Altitude while both of their remaining regular season games will air live on YouTube via The Lacrosse Network.
