Rochester Knighthawks forward Cody Jamieson won the 2013 NLL Reebok Championship Game MVP trophy after recording a hat trick and six points (3+3) in Rochester's thrilling 11-10 title game win over the Washington Stealth this past weekend at Langley Events Centre in British Columbia.
The award marks the second-straight year that Jamieson has earned the distinction after he posted eight points (4+4) and scored a second-half hat trick for the back-to-back champion Knighthawks in their 9-6 comeback win over the Edmonton Rush in the 2012 Championship Game.
Jamieson, who suffered a lower-body injury in their first-round East Division Semifinal playoff matchup against the Philadelphia Wings but returned to play in the East Final, becomes sixth player in history to win multiple NLL Championship Game MVPs and just the second player to do it consecutively.
He joined Colin Doyle, Bob Watson, Dallas Eliuk, Gary Gait and John Tavares as the only six players to win multiple Championship Game MVP awards. Doyle has won three while the other five have done it twice. Jamieson and Tavares (1992-93) are the only two players to win back-to-back title game MVP trophies.
Jamieson, Rochester's first overall pick in the 2010 NLL Entry Draft, has a history of coming through for his team in big games. The Six Nations, Ontario native scored the game-winning overtime goal for Syracuse University in the 2009 NCAA Championship Game.
