At 6-foot-8 and 260 pounds, transition player Richard Morgan was a man amongst boys in the National Lacrosse League. Morgan, and two of his brothers, were gifted athletes whose size intimidated and skill elevated them to the professional ranks. But before the team opened training camp this weekend, the 34-year-old decided to call it a career.

“Playing in the NLL was an amazing experience,” Morgan said. “I love the game.”

The game loved him right back. Ten seasons and four teams later, Morgan looks back on 84 goals and 77 assists in 150 career games. He appeared in seven postseasons and reached the NLL Championship Game once. The Mammoth-sized player’s last message to his teammates?

“I wish you guys the best of luck," he said. "Go win one!”
