Lyndhurst, NJ)?.The National Lacrosse League has announced that Philadelphia Wings goaltender Dallas Eliuk has been named the Player of the Week for his performance on April 14 against the Albany Attack.
Eliuk, the 5-10, 180-pound netminder from Vancouver, British Columbia was outstanding in goal, as Eliuk made 40 saves to give the Wings a 9-4 victory. Eliuk only allowed two goals in the first 53:34 of play, before Albany picked up two more goals to finish out the game in the fourth quarter.
Eliuk's performance helped clinch a second place finish in the NLL for Philadelphia and secured a playoff game on the Wings' home turf against the Rochester Knighthawks on Friday, April 20.
This season, Eliuk made over 500 saves (504) for the first time in his 11-year MILL/NLL career. Eliuk's 11.95 goals-against average is third among NLL Goaltending Leaders. Eliuk is also ranked fourth in the League in save percentage (.772)
Eliuk, MILL/NLL All-Time Saves Leader, has collected 3,845 saves in 106 career regular season games. In four seasons in the NLL, Eliuk has a 12.62 goals-against average.
This is the fifth time in Eliuk's career that he has earned Player of the Week honors.
