By National Lacrosse League

The Albany Attack have promoted Bob McMahon to the position of head coach. McMahon served as an assistant coach of the Attack during the team’s first two seasons. McMahon was promoted following the resignation of head coach Terry Sanderson. Team officials announced both personnel moves earlier today.

McMahon, a native of Orangeville, Ontario, served as an assistant coach during the Attacks 1999-2000 and 2000-2001 seasons. McMahon also served as an assistant coach of the Detroit Turbos during the 1992 and 1993 seasons. Other coaching experience includes the Brampton Excelsiors of the Ontario Major Lacrosse League, where McMahons teams won Championships in 1998 and 1999.

McMahon is the second head coach in the Attacks brief history. Former head coach Terry Sanderson led the team to an 11-15 record over its first two seasons. McMahon will lead the Attack into the upcoming 2001-2002 season. Mike DeRossi will continue to serve as the Attacks General Manager.
