The Vancouver Ravens have appointed Paul Dal Monte to the position of Head Coach and Director of Lacrosse Operations. The Ravens have also appointed Dave Evans to the position of General Manager and Director of Player Personnel. Dal Monte and Evans join the Ravens' front office and head the team operations for their debut in the National Lacrosse League. The two were introduced at a news conference today at Vancouver's General Motors Place, the Ravens' home arena.

"With many of the best minds in the game of lacrosse right here in British Columbia, we didn't think we'd have too go far to bring in the kind of leadership that we think will make the Vancouver Ravens competitive immediately and a contender soon," said Tom Mayenknecht, Governor of the Vancouver Ravens.

"In Paul Dal Monte and Dave Evans, we believe we have a 'Dream Team' front office for the Vancouver Ravens and we're absolutely delighted to have been able to bring them together, not only for our future players but for our fans and community partners," said Mayenknecht. "They've already started preparations for the National Lacrosse League expansion draft on June 15th and will begin speaking with other teams from throughout the NLL today."

Dal Monte is from Burnaby, British Columbia, and brings an extensive lacrosse background to the Ravens. The new head coach was a highly successful player and coach in the Western Lacrosse Association.

Evans is from Langley, British Columbia. The Ravens' new general manager coached the Philadelphia Wings to a pair of League Championships in 1990 & 1991. A standout goalkeeper in his playing days, Evans was inducted to the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1995.

The Vancouver Ravens were founded on April 9, 2001, as the League's eleventh franchise. The Ravens will begin play in December of this year at General Motors Place, which serves as home to the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League and is one of the premier concert venues in North America.
