By National Lacrosse League

Albany native Mike Regan has signed a one-year contract with the Albany Attack for the 2001-2002 National Lacrosse League season. In his rookie season last year, Mike posted impressive statistics (18 goals, 7 assists for 25 points) earning him a spot on the NLL All-Rookie Team and impressed the opposition with his speed and tremendous shooting velocity.

New Head Coach Bob McMahon has high expectations for Regan. "Mike will be an integral part of our offensive strategy this season. His deadly shooting accuracy should only improve with the enlarged goals and will be a welcome addition to our power play," stated Coach McMahon. The NLL has increased the goal size by three inches in width to 4"9" for the 2001-02 season

A graduate of Christian Brothers Academy and Butler University Mike continues to make Albany his home. Along with the Attack, Regan is currently employed by J.deBeer and Son Lacrosse Company as a technical representative.

The Attack open the 2001-02 regular season at home against the expansion New Jersey Storm on Friday, November 16 at 8:00 pm. This will be an historic game for both the Attack and the NLL as it will be the first nationally televised U.S. game in league history. Fans can watch all the action live on CNN/SI.
