The Albany Attack will begin their pre season training camp this weekend, October 6, at the Ken Giles Arena in Brampton, Ontario. New Head Coach Bob McMahon will be looking to improve his offensive line up as the Attack enter their third season of play in the National Lacrosse League.
Along with sixteen returning veterans and nine drafted players, Albany has also invited ten free agents to try outs, of which four are Albany residents. Jason Gifford, John Madigan, Kurt Randle and Steve Field are all looking to impress Coach McMahon and secure a position on the Attack roster along with current Attack player and local resident Mike Regan.
With the addition of four new franchises, the NLL has increased their schedule to sixteen games and has created a new divisional format. Joining Albany in the Central Division will be Columbus, Buffalo, Rochester and Montreal.
The Attack open their regular season of play on Friday, November 16 at 8:00 pm in the Pepsi Arena against the expansion New Jersey Storm, owned by former NBA All-Star Jayson Williams. This game will be the first nationally televised league game for the NLL and will be broadcast live by CNN/SI.
