Forward Ryan Painter scored a hat trick and goaltender Matt Disher made 53 saves, as the Ottawa Rebel captured their first home victory in franchise history with a 13-10 win over the Vancouver Ravens in National Lacrosse League action today at the Corel Centre.
The Ravens, who were playing their second game in as many days, were powered by forward Luke Ansley's three goals.
Ravens net minder Dwight Maetche suffered his second loss of the season despite turning away 34 of 47 shots faced, while Disher picked up his first victory of the season.
With the win, Ottawa improves to 1-0 and moves into a tie for first place in the NLL Northern Division while Vancouver drops into last place with a 0-2 record.
