The Albany Attack (4-1)took hold of sole possession of first place in the NLL Central Division with a 20-8 victory over the New York Saints (2-2) tonight at the Pepsi Arena.
Albany, which has won their last three games in a row, was paced offensively by the efforts of forwards Gary Rosyski?s nine points (4G 5A) and Josh Sanderson?s eight points (2G 6A).
The Saints, who drop into second place in the NLL Eastern Division, were led by forward Jonas Derks?s four points (2G 2 A). Forward Roy Colsey (2G 1A) and defenseman Pat McCabe (1G 2A) each added three points as well for New York.
In addition to being named game MVP, Attack goaltender Rob Blasdell picked up his league leading fourth win of the season, saving 43 shots. Saints net minder Gord Nash suffered the loss despite turning away 24 Albany shots.
Albany receives a bye in their schedule next week, while New York travels to Columbus on Friday, Dec 28 for an 8 p.m. start time. The game will be shown live across the United States on CNN/Si Network.
