Peter Morgan scored five goals and assisted on four more as the Vancouver Ravens routed the New Jersey Storm 22-10 Sunday in front of 9,363 at GM Place.
Chris Gill, who finished with a hat trick, got the Vancouver attack off to a strong start with goals at 2:53 and 4:16 of the first quarter. Kevin Stewardson also scored twice as the Ravens finished the period leading 5-3.
Eight different Ravens scored in the second stanza, including Morgan with the game-winner at 11:17, and 41-year-old goalie Dwight Maetche came up with nine of his 28 saves to boost Vancouver's advantage to a formidable 13-5.
The third quarter was all Ravens, as Morgan recorded a hat trick, Jamey Bowen and Kevin Hanson each scored his second of the game, and Rich Catton added a tally.
The Storm strung together five unanswered goals -- two each by Grant Johnston and Billy LeFeurve, plus one by Cam Bomberry -- in the final 15 minutes, but the rally barely dented Vancouver's ironclad lead.
Gill and Grant Hamilton each matched Morgan's four assists for the Ravens, while Bowen set up five Ravens tallies. Even Maetche picked up a point, assisting on Darren Reisig's second-quarter goal.
Johnston led the Storm with a hat trick and one assist, while LeFeurve had two goals and two assists.
