Rock Stop Roughnecks 15 12

The Toronto Rock jumped out to a four goal lead in the first 7:12 of the game, and never looked back, taking a 15-12 win over the Calgary Roughnecks in front of 9,428 at Pengrowth Saddledome Saturday.

Steve Toll had three goals and four assists for the Rock, but it was Ken Millin who sparked the first quarter offense with two goals.

Toronto increased their lead to 9-4, holding the high powered Roughnecks offense in check through most of three quarters.

Calgary, with four of the league's leading scorers in its lineup cut Toronto's lead to 11-10 with unanswered goals by Chris Panos, Kyle Goundrey and Panos again to open the fourth quarter, but a one minute spurt, which included goals by Kim Squire, Toll and Dan Stroup gave the Rock a 14-10 lead.

Colin Doyle had a goal and four assists for the Rock, while Kim Squire registered a goal and four assists, and Blain Manning scored three times and had an assist.
