The Rochester Knighthawks held off a furious Albany Attack rally, and went on to win 17-14 at Pepsi Arena Saturday night.

After jumping out to a 4-0 lead just 6:18 into the first, the Knighthawks threatened to run away with it, but end-to-end play and constant pressure by the Attack kept the game close. A first half hat trick by John Grant and two goals by Kurt Malawsky were enough to give Rochester an 8-5 halftime lead.

Albany scored six goals in less than eight minutes, to tie the game at 11-11 at the end of three.

Derek Malawsky scored two goals 34 second apart at Rochester took a 14-12 third quarter lead, and Grant and goalkeeper Pat O'Toole closed out the scoring.

Grant led Rochester with four goals and four assists, while Curt Malawsky finished the game with three goals and four assists for seven points and Derek Malawsky had two goals and three assists for five points.

Albany had two players with eight points, Gary Rosyski who had five goals and three assists and Josh Sanderson with two goals and six assists.
