Tracey Kelusky scored four goals and assisted on two others to lead the Montreal Express to a 13-9 win over the Ottawa Rebel at the Corel Centre Sunday.
Ted Dowling, who scored three goals and assisted on two, gave the Express a 1-0 lead at 3:51 of the first, a lead they never relinquished.
Montreal increased the lead to 5-2 by the end of the first. Despite a brief surge to open the second, on power play goals by Rory Graham and Jamie Roy, and goals by Mike Benedict and Steve Evans to open the third, the closest the Rebel came was trailing by one.
Montreal broke it open with unanswered fourth quarter goals by Aime Caines, Jason Crosbie, Kelusky and Dowling to go up 13-7. Ryan Painter and Chris Konopliff scored last minute powerplay goals for Ottawa to cut the advantage to 13-9.
Evans (2g, 1a) and Roy (1g, 2a) led the Rebel in scoring.
The Express, backstopped by Curtis Palidwor and his 45 saves, improve to 5-2, having won both their meetings with the Rebel this weekend.
Andrew Layshon (8 saves) and Matt Disher (5 saves) split time in the nets as Ottawa lost their 7th straight, dropping to 1-7.
