By National Lacrosse League

The Albany Attack have officially punched their ticket to the 2002 Champions Cup Playoffs. The team's weekend victory over the Buffalo Bandits and the results of other NLL games from the weekend assured the Attack of a finish in the top six, and a guaranteed spot in the Champions Cup Playoffs.

Albany, now 11-2, can finish with a record no worse than 11-5. With nine out of thirteen teams already having six or more losses, Albany assures itself finishing no worse than fourth place overall. Despite a stellar record, the Attack are still leading a tight race for the Central Division, staying one game in front of the Rochester Knighthawks (10-3).

The Attack are the first team to clinch a berth in the 2002 Champions Cup Playoffs.
