Albany Forward Chases Single Season Assists Record

Here is an update on the chase for new single-season records in goals, assists and total points.

GOALS
Even with a 16-game regular season schedule, it seems that Gary Gait's single season goals record should be safe for another year. Gait's record of 57, set in 1998, was achieved in a 12-game season. Vancouver's Chris Gill leads the pack this year for goals with 47 through 14 games. If he keeps with this pace, Gill will end the season with 53 goals, just shy of the record.

ASSISTS
Albany's Josh Sanderson is on track to break the single season assists record this year with 56 assists through 13 games. It is projected that Sanderson will break the record with 68 assists by the end of the season. The current assists record is 64, set last season by Buffalo Bandits forward John Tavares. The record was accomplished in a 14-game schedule. During that season, Tavares averaged 4.5 assists per game; Sanderson is currently averaging 4.3 assists per game.

POINTS
Albany's Josh Sanderson (86 points through 13 games) and Montreal's Tracey Kelusky (80 points through 12 games) are in command to lead the league in total points for the season. Although neither are on pace to break the current record of 115 points in a single season, both are projected to end the season around the 106-point mark. The record belongs to John Tavares (last season).
