Gill, Prout Honored For Great Play In February

The Player of the Month Award for February 2002 goes to Vancouver Ravens forward Chris Gill, and the Rookie of the Month Award for February 2002 goes to New York Saints forward Gavin Prout.

In the five games Vancouver played in February, the Ravens forward scored 23 goals, 13 assists (23G, 13A, 36 Pts.), and picked up 16 loose balls. Gill is currently 1st in the League for total goals (47), and 6th in the League for total points (78). The Ravens went 5-0 for the month of February, keeping the expansion team in playoff contention.

In the four games the Saints played in February, Prout scored seven goals, ten assists (7G, 10A, 17 Pts.), and picked up 20 loose balls. Prout is currently 8th in the League in points (72), and 2nd in the League in assists (47). Prout leads all Rookies in both categories. Despite Prout's efforts, the Saints went 0-4 in the month of February.

The League's Player of the Month and Player of the Week Awards are voted on by the General Managers of all thirteen National Lacrosse League teams.
