Storm End Season With Second Straight Win

The New Jersey Storm avenged an earlier home loss and split the season series with Ottawa as they defeated the Rebel 12-11 Sunday in overtime at the Civic Centre.

Forward Scott Stewart scored the game-winner at 1:17 of the extra frame to help lift New Jersey to their second straight victory.

With the win the club finishes with a 5-11 mark and as a result ties New York for third place in the Eastern Division.

Goaltender Matt Roik picked up his fifth win of the season in net, making 49 saves, while Ottawa net minder Matt Disher suffered his eighth loss, stopping 45.

Billy Lefeurve led the Storm with 2 goals and 3 assists, while Scott Stewart (3g, 1a), Grant Johnson (3g, 1a); Dallas Squire (2g, 2a) all had four points.
Mike Benedict had 2goals and 2 assists for Ottawa, while Ryan Painter scored three goals.
