By National Lacrosse League

The Calgary Roughnecks have appointed Bill Cragg to the position of Vice President. Cragg will oversee the Business Development side of the Roughnecks, and will report directly to Brad Banister, Owner and Governor of the team.

Cragg is a born and bred Calgarian who has over 20 years of experience in professional sports: 19 of these years were spent with the Calgary Cannons Professional Baseball Club. The Cannons were owned by the Parker family, a long-time fixture of the Calgary professional sports scene.

Bill began his sport administration career with the Calgary Boomers Professional Soccer Club in 1980. He joined the Parker family in 1983 as General Manager of the Calgary Expos Professional Baseball Club. With the purchase of the Calgary Cannons in 1985, Bill became their first employee and in 1990 was named General Manager, Marketing and Promotions of the Calgary Cannons. In that same year the Parker family expanded into the hockey business and Cragg assumed new duties as Assistant to the President. As such, Bill worked closely with the Parkers during the inception and development of the Kansas City Blades Professional Hockey Club, Kelowna Spartans Junior 'A' Hockey Club, and the Regina Pats Major Junior Hockey Club (1992-1996).

'I am most grateful for the opportunity to work with the Calgary Roughnecks and am really excited about the tremendous future that lacrosse has in Alberta on both the professional and amateur levels.'
