(Rochester, NY): Rochester Knighthawks General Manager Jody Gage announced today that team captain Duane Jacobs has been named the team's franchise player.

The team's all-time leading scorer enters his ninth season with the Rochester Knighthawks. In 93 career games with Rochester, Jacobs has registered 169 goals and 185 assists for 354 points. He is the all-time leader in all three offensive categories. Jacobs was named the team's captain last season after the departure of Randy Mearns.

As the team's franchise player, Jacobs can receive bonuses that exceed the league's ordinary maximum salary.
It is an appropriate distinction for Jacobs because he has been a Knighthawk since the team's inception in 1995.

The native of Six Nations was a member of the 1997 Championship team. Four times he has been named a league All-Pro (1996-1999), and in 1999 he was named the K-Hawks' Most Valuable Player.
