EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - The New Jersey Storm today named Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Famer Jim Brady as the team's Head Coach and General Manager. Brady began last season as an Assistant Coach and the Director of Player Personnel for the team. He became the Interim Head Coach five games into the season and helped lead the Storm (5-11) to four victories in their last six games.

Brady has been a chief architect of the Storm team, including the recent trades for two Top 20 National Lacrosse League scorers, Roy Colsey and Mike Benedict.

'I looking forward to moving the team up a few notches,' Brady said, 'We have addressed the problem we had scoring goals with a couple of trades and I hope to build on an already solid defense. I'm enthused about the play of Matt Roik (Storm starting goaltender) who has set the summer league on fire this summer while playing for his hometown team, Victoria. That should make us pretty solid on goaltending as well.'

The St. Catharines, Ontario native also currently serves as the Commissioner of the Ontario Lacrosse Association's (OLA) major league, Ontario's premiere lacrosse league. He has collected over 400 wins and six national championships as a Junior A Head Coach or General Manager in Canada.

'The Storm showed major signs of improvement under Jim Brady in the second half of last season,' said Storm Alternate Governor Chip Santye, 'His knowledge and experience in the lacrosse world will help us in the front office and on the floor. We look forward to a very exciting and successful 2002-2003 season.'

Brady will run the upcoming 2002 Entry Draft for the Storm, which will be held on Saturday, September 21 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. New Jersey's first selection in the Entry Draft is currently the third pick of the Second Round (15th overall). The Entry Draft pool consists largely of top American collegiate players and Canadian junior stars. NationalLacrosse.com will provide results of the draft on September 21.

Former General Manager and Assistant Coach Jim Rogers was recently named Assistant General Manager and Assistant Coach for the United States World Indoor Lacrosse team. Rogers will remain with the Storm in an advisory capacity.

The New Jersey Storm recently completed a successful inaugural season at the Continental Airlines Arena in which the team averaged nearly 6,000 fans per contest. The 2002-2003 National Lacrosse League season will begin in late December. Storm season ticket plans are on sale now.
