The Columbus Landsharks announced that Bob Hamley has been named the new Head Coach for the 2002-2003 season. Jeff Dowling and Rick Wilson have also been named Assistant Coaches.

Hamley, the 36-year old native of Guelph, Ontario was an Assistant Coach for the Albany Attack last season. Hamley's offensive systems led Albany to the National Lacrosse League Champion's Cup Finals in 2001-2002 for the first time in their franchise history. Hamley brought the NLL's lowest scoring team in 2000-2001, to the League's third best scoring team last season.

Known as the "Hammer' during his playing days, Hamley played with the Buffalo Bandits from 1992-1995, where he was an assistant captain during each season. Hamley was one of the key components to the Bandits' back to back World Championships in 1992 and 1993.

"We are excited to have Bob in our family," said Landsharks Co-owner Mike Gongas.
"Bob brings a hard-working, blue-collar attitude to our organization. His knowledge of the game and his ability to make players respond should make for a successful season."

Before joining the Attack last season, Hamley was the Head Coach and General Manager of the Kitchener/Waterloo Junior A Braves lacrosse club from 1999-2001.

Dowling was a primary scout for the Ottawa Rebel for the past two seasons. The Ancaster, Ontario native played field lacrosse at Brock University, where he captained his squad to three Provincial Championships. Dowling also was involved with the Buffalo Bandits organization as a color commentator for the team on WUSA in Buffalo, NY. During the summer months, Dowling is the General Manager and Head Coach for the Burlington, Ontario Junior A lacrosse team.

Wilson was the Head Coach for the men's lacrosse team at Lurila University in Kitchener, Ontario where the team went on to win the Division II Canadian Championship last season. Wilson also has been an Assistant Coach for the past three season for the Kitchener/Waterloo Junior A lacrosse team in the Ontario Lacrosse Association.
