Lacrosse Day A Big Hit In Colorado

Denver, CO - Colorado Indoor Lacrosse held the first ever Lacrosse Day in Denver at Pepsi Center yesterday. It was open to the public and lacrosse enthusiasts of all ages participated in events from 10 am to 10 pm.

"The response to the day was overwhelming," said President and General Manager Steve Govett. "We had four times the number of youth show up at the door that we had registered for the day's events and we were really happy with the talent level of the participants of the open tryouts. Overall it was a very exciting day for us and we are looking forward to carrying that level of enthusiasm through to the season."

Lacrosse players, fans, season ticket holders and the public got a sneak peak at the action to come at Pepsi Center yesterday. The day included a Junior Clinic and Junior team tryout that brought out nearly 200 youth. Also, the Colorado Indoor Lacrosse Team open tryout which yielded nearly 75 participants for the day. An autograph signing with current CIL players and an Under 19 tournament in which 8 teams, over 100 kids played off in a single elimination tournament that ended with the long standing rivalry of East vs. Cherry Creek.

Next up for the Colorado Indoor Lacrosse team is the Rookie Tryout Camp, selected open tryout members from this weekend, along with draftees and signed free agents will participate for one weekend before heading to training camp in November.

The eight home game schedule will be played at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado on weekends between December and April. Season ticket packages range from $80 - $240 and can be purchased now at 303-405-1101 or at www.ColoradoLax.com.
