Ravens Active In Player Signings

The Vancouver Ravens announced the signing of Kevin Brunsch, Chris Prat, Grant Hamilton, Bruce Murray, Darren Reisig and Scott Whitley. In keeping with team policy, terms of the contract were not released.

Brunsch, a native of New Westminster, was original signed as a free agent last year. Brunsch played in 10 games with the Ravens accumulating nine goals, 12 assists for 21 points. Before playing for the Ravens, Brunsch was an important member of the Coquitlam Adanacs from 1993-2001, and was part of the winning team to capture the 2001 Mann Cup.

Prat, a native of Victoria, was acquired early last season through a blockbuster trade with the Calgary Roughnecks. Last year Prat was tied for second in team scoring with 24 goals, 43 assists combining for 67 points in 12 games. Prat played in four games with the Roughnecks where he had one goal and 23 loose balls. Prior to the Roughnecks, Prat played for the Buffalo Bandits.

Hamilton, a native of Winnipeg, was signed as a free agent early last season. Hamilton played in 15 games with the Ravens last year accumulating one goal and 15 assists. Hamilton led the Raven's defence in loose balls recovered with 67. Before joining the Ravens, Hamilton was a member of the Victoria Shamrocks from 1991 - 2001, and a member of the winning Mann Cup team in 1997 and 1999.

Murray, a native of New Westminster, was acquired as a free agent before last season started. Playing in all 16 games with the Ravens, Murray scooped-up 48 loose balls and led the team in penalty minutes with 48. Murray also scored one goal and assisted on five. Prior to playing with the Ravens, Murray played for the New Westminster Salmonbellies from 1999 - 2001.

Reisig, a native of Victoria, was signed as a free agent before last season started. Reisig, the Ravens captain, played in all 16 games with the Ravens averaging a point a game with eight goals and eight assists. Reisig, 94 loose balls, was second only to goalie Maetche who recovered 134 loose balls. Reisig was a member of the Victoria Shamrocks from 1994-2001 where they won the Mann Cup in 1997 and 1999.

Whitley, a native of Ladner, was also signed before last season started. Due to a wrist injury, Whitley only played in three games where he had one shot on net, recovered six loose balls and had six penalty minutes. Whitley played for the Coquitlam Adanacs from 1999-2001, where they won the 2001 Mann Cup.
