A former nationally ranked lacrosse goaltender from Sacred Heart University and three-time Northeast Conference "Goalie of the Year" in 1999, 2000 and 2001, Capicchoni backstopped the Storm for the entire second quarter of tonight?s contest, making ten saves, including a break away against Buffalo forward John Tavares, while allowing five goals and picking up three loose balls.
Capicchoni stated shortly after the game that she is becoming more comfortable with every practice and game. "It?s a difficult situation to be in, but the guys on this team have really made me feel comfortable and made the game very enjoyable," she said.
New Jersey trailed the game 9-6 at the half, but shut out Buffalo 3-0 in the third quarter. On the offensive side of the ball, the Storm were led by the four-point performances of forward Scott Stewart (2G, 2A) and newly acquired forward Mike Benedict (1G, 3A).
