A former nationally ranked lacrosse goaltender from Sacred Heart University and three-time Northeast Conference "Goalie of the Year" in 1999, 2000 and 2001, Capicchoni backstopped the Storm for the entire second quarter of tonight?s contest, making ten saves, including a break away against Buffalo forward John Tavares, while allowing five goals and picking up three loose balls.

Capicchoni stated shortly after the game that she is becoming more comfortable with every practice and game. "It?s a difficult situation to be in, but the guys on this team have really made me feel comfortable and made the game very enjoyable," she said.

New Jersey trailed the game 9-6 at the half, but shut out Buffalo 3-0 in the third quarter. On the offensive side of the ball, the Storm were led by the four-point performances of forward Scott Stewart (2G, 2A) and newly acquired forward Mike Benedict (1G, 3A). Roy Colsey (2G, 1A) added three points for New Jersey in his debut.

Derek General got the win in net for New Jersey, playing 45 minutes and turning away 30 Buffalo shots with seven goals against.

Former Stormer Kerry Susheski was tops for the Buffalo offense with a four-point performance of his own (2G, 2A). The two teams will meet twice during the 2002-2003 regular season with the Bandits visiting the Continental Airlines Arena on January 19, 2003 and the Storm returning to Buffalo on April 5, 2003.

The Storm return to training camp next weekend before competing with division rival the Philadelphia Wings in another pre-season scrimmage on December 14, 2002 at the Peddie School, in Hightstown, NJ.

The Storm will officially open this season on the road versus the Rochester Knighthawks on Saturday, December 28 at 7:35 p.m. The team opens at home on Saturday, January 4 vs. Columbus at 7:30 p.m. Eight-game and four-game season ticket plans are on sale now by calling 1-866-NJ STORM.
