Landsharks Hang On Against Rebel

In a see-saw battle in Columbus, Kyle Arbuckle's power play goal broke a 12-12 tie in the fourth quarter and put the Landsharks ahead for good as they defeated the Ottawa Rebel by a score of 14-13 in Columbus on Friday afternoon.

The Rebel fell short for the team's second loss of the season. Mat Giles scored with 35 seconds remaining with
goaltender Andrew Leyshon on the bench for an extra attacker to bring Ottawa to within one goal, but the Rebel could not get the equalizer.

Arbuckle scored three goals for Columbus (2-0). Kasey Beirnes added 2 goals and 4 assists (6 points). The Ottawa Rebel (0-2) were led by Kevin Howard (5 goals, 1 assist for 6 points) and Mat Giles (2 goals, 3 assists for 5 points).

Ottawa visits the New York Saints (0-2) on Saturday at the Nassau Coliseum (7:30 PM). The Landsharks meet the New Jersey Storm (1-0) on Sunday at the Continental Airlines Arena (2:00 PM, Fox Sports New York).
