Attack Fall In Buffalo, 11 10

The Buffalo Bandits defeated the Albany Attack, 11-10, in an overtime thriller at the HSBC Arena. Pat McCready led the Bandits with three goals and an assist, but it was Aime Caines who was the hero, scoring his only goal of the night 57 seconds into overtime to win the first game of the season for the Bandits.

Gary Rosyski led the Attack with two goals and three assists. Dan Teat (3g, 1a) and Josh Sanderson (1g, 3a) also played well.

Jonas Derks and Jason Crosbie each had two goals and two assists for Buffalo.

Albany started the game in charge, with Dan Teat scoring twice as the Attack jumped out to an early 4-1 lead. Pat McCready scored two in a row to cut the lead to a goal after one quarter. However, the Attack continued to play well, and went into the locker rooms up 8-5.

Newcomer Jonas Derks scored a pair in a second half four goal run for Buffalo, as the Bandits took a 10-9 lead with just under nine minutes to play. Mike Regan tied the game at 5:46, sending the game into overtime.

Albany falls to 1-2, as they travel to Toronto to take on the Rock in a Champions Cup rematch next Saturday at the Air Canada Centre (3:30 PM). The Bandits improve to 1-0, as they host the Columbus Landsharks at the HSBC Arena next Saturday (7:00 PM).
