The Ottawa Rebel picked up their first win, with a 16-12 road victory over the New York Saints in front of 4,274 fans at the Nassau Coliseum. Though the Saints jumped out to a quick two goal lead in the first, Ottawa answered back with three in a row, and never trailed following.

Matt Giles (4g, 1a) recorded the game-winner at 8:42 of the third for the Rebel. Stephan Evans was named Game MVP, scoring 3 goals and 4 assists.

The Saints nearly came back in the second half, led by Rusty Kruger (4g, 1a). Ottawa's defense killed the Saints late run, as New York was plagued with penalties.
