Eleven-year veteran and New Jersey Storm defenseman Steve Sombrotto has been named as this season?s team captain it was announced today by General Manager and Head Coach Jim Brady.

Sombrotto spent nine seasons with the New York Saints before joining the Storm as an original member last year. The Port Washington, NY native will once again wear the black, silver and blue for New Jersey after leading the team in loose balls with 90 and playing an integral role in the team?s division-low goals against average last season.

?I am both excited and pleased to lead this year?s squad onto the floor,? Sombrotto said. ?I know that we will do our very best to work together and make for a great season.?

In appointing him to the position, Brady stated, ?Steve is a positive player and one that everyone looks up to. He tries to help players in every way that he can and is our selection for captain this season.?

In addition, defenseman Paul Talmo returns for another year as alternate captain with newly acquired Roy Colsey also serving as an alternate.
