The Buffalo Bandits announce today that they have traded Chris Panos to the New York Saints in exchange for Nate Watkins and the Saints fourth round draft choice in the 2004 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft.

Watkins played for the Rochester Rattlers in the MLL over the summer. He scored 11 goals and added 12 assists for 23 points in 13 games. The 6'4" 215 pound defenseman played collegiality for the University of Maryland. In his senior year Watkins netted 24 goals and seven assists.

"Chris Panos chose not to report to Buffalo so we felt it was time to make a move," said Bandits General Manager Kurt Silcott. "We talked with NY and NJ places close to where he was living and were able to get a great young talent from the Saints. I expect Nate Watkins to develop into a quality indoor player. He has all the ability and his skills should translate to the indoor game quite well."
