Prepchuk Traded To Colorado

The Colorado Mammoth today acquired forward Ben Prepchuk from the New York Saints.

In return, the Mammoth sent forwards Brian Solliday and Matt Shearer, defenseman Jon Brothers, and the rights to forward Jesse Hubbard, to the Saints. The Saints also received two first round draft picks (2003, 2004), one second round draft pick (2003).

'Ben is one of the best young inside right-handers in the game today,' said Mammoth general manager Steve Govett. 'He will bring some great additional power to the team.'

The 6'0', 200-lb. Prepchuk is native of Sherwood Park, Alberta and graduate of Radford played for the Saints in his rookie season, 2000-01, scoring 13 goals and 11 assists for 24 points. Prepchuk was traded to the Calgary Roughnecks last season, scoring 40 goals and 38 assists for 78 points.

Prepchuk will play for the Mammoth Saturday night on the road against the Philadelphia Wings.
