Blaine Manning scored five goals and assisted on eight others, leading the Toronto Rock to a 17-13 victory over the previously undefeated Buffalo Bandits in front of 15,221 fans at the Air Canada Centre. Manning scored the game-winner at 5:47 of the fourth quarter, on an assist from Colin Doyle (3g, 6a). Jim Veltman (1g, 6a) and Kevin Finneran (3g, 3a) also played phenominal for the Rock. John Tavares (5g, 3a) led Buffalo.
The game was close early, but Toronto scored seven goals in the second quarter to take an 8-4 lead into the half. Buffalo battled back in the second half, cutting the lead to 11-10 after the third, however, a late major penalty on Cory Quinn put the Bandits in a hole they could not dig out of.
Buffalo falls to 3-1, as they host the struggling Calgary Roughnecks Saturday night at the HSBC Arena. Toronto improves to 4-2 after a successful 2-0 weekend.
